Ibrahim Olutade Joins Invicta

In what has been one of the busiest summers for many seasons at Invicta, 23-year-old centre forward Ibrahim Olutade has become Neil Cugley’s sixth new signing, having joined from Tonbridge Angels of the National League South.

He started his career in senior football with Hanwell Town in the 2018/19 season, and following two good  performances for them against Leatherhead in the F.A. Cup, in which he scored his side’s goal in the first game in a 1-1 draw, ‘The Tanners’ signed him in the November of that season and by the end he was the club’s joint second leading scorer with 13 goals from 31 games, although he didn’t score against Invicta in the three games we played against them.

That goal ratio attracted the attention of Maidstone United and he signed for them for the start of the 2019/20 season, but he found his appearances limited, which saw him loaned back to Leatherhead and despite going back to ‘The Stones’ in January 2020, he was ‘The Tanners’ leading scorer with 16 goals in just 24 games.

On his return to Maidstone United, he made just eleven appearances (without scoring) and then in the Covid disrupted following season he scored twice in three appearances. He was then released by ‘The Stones’ and he moved to their Kent neighbours and National League South rivals Tonbridge Angels, making  the news in December when he came on as a substitute and scored the winner against National League Torquay United in their 2-1 home win in a Buildbase F.A. Trophy Third Round tie. Overall, he made thirty-two appearances for ‘The Angels’, scoring six goals last season.

Neil said: “I’m delighted to have signed Ibrahim; he is an athletic player who knows where the goal is and has an excellent ratio of goals per games. “He was someone I’ve been after for a while, and although there was competition from clubs at higher levels, he has agreed to sign for Invicta which is excellent news.“
