Ins and Outs at the Fullick's Stadium

I caught up with Neil today (Friday) to discuss the comings and goings at the Fullick's Stadium since the season ended.

Finn O'Mara and Callum Davies were already signed for the 2019/20 season and Neil was pleased to pass on the news that the majority of the players who were a regular part of the First Team squad last season had resigned and discussions were still ongoing with the couple that haven't so far. I'm sure that you'll understand at this time we don't want to mention names and alert other clubs to their current availability!

We have however lost Ade Yusuff, who has joined Dulwich Hamlet. Neil said; “Although it's disappointing to see Ade go, he was offered an excellent opportunity at a club that are a League above and now virtually full time as they train three mornings a week”. He then added; “Personally, I think he was underrated and I'm pleased he is progressing, and who knows if he does well he may get another move further up the Leagues”. ”He was excellent in the way he kept me informed as to what was happening with other clubs that were interested, so I'd like to thank him for that too”. Obviously, having scored 50 goals in just 101 appearances I mentioned that it will leave us a bit short in the goalscoring department, and Neil replied; “Yes, that true, needless to say I've been on the phone and travelling up and down the motorway speaking to possible replacements and as soon as I have any positive news I'll let you know”.

Neil then mentioned that Nick Shaw won't be available next season as he wants to do other things and can't commit to being available every week. Neil said; “I'd like to thank Shawry for his efforts in what is a thankless position when you get prepared for a game, knowing that you'll probably never get to play, hopefully I'll still see him as he manages the Three Hills complex at the back of the ground!”.

Ethan Madden, who captained the Youth Team to the ‘Treble' will also be unavailable as he is off to University as are the majority of the other Youth Team members who appeared on the bench last season. Neil said “It's unfortunate, but we can't stand in the lads' ways as they go on to higher education”.

That's it for now, but as soon as I get any hopefully positive news I'll pass it on.
