Folkestone Invicta Disability FC 2

Charlton Athletic Deaf 2

(Charlton win 5-3 on pens)

Invicta were put under pressure from the start with Charlton keeping the ball well and Law, Causer,Froud and Barnett Defending well .

But Folkestone gradually got a foothold and when Head won a corner Hayter's kick was headed wide by Lefevre. Hughes had to be sharp in goal to collect from an Addicks forward.

At the other end, Invicta won a corner on the right and when played short Avery crossed for Law to give Invicta the lead .

They added a second when Billee Hayter beat two men and curled the ball home from the edge of the box.

The second half started in lively fashion with Invicta pressing early on but could not make anything from some free kicks.

Charlton started to get the better of  things and forced a couple of defensive blocks from Law.

Then with 15 minutes to go the Addicks got a lifeline when from a corner there striker flicked home from the near post.

And they drew level when keeper Hughes called for a long ball only to see  his clearance hit Law and rebound to a Maidstone forward in front of an empty net .

With time running out Hayter pushed forward and Harding went close .

Law went forward and from a free kick as he was about to score was kicked in the head for which Invicta received a penalty.

Law stepped up but saw his spot kick saved and the game went to the lottery of penalties.

Harding, Law and Thornton scored but Lee unfortunately missed and from a winning situation the game was lost.

But coach Geraint Wilson commented: "The players put in a great effort against a good side and took them all the way but sometimes a bit of calmness was required when under pressure

"But no-one could complain about anyone's performance."

Maidstone United Deaf 0

As Temperatures reached 19degrees Invicta put in a battling Performance at south rd .

Invicta closed down from the start getting the ball forward to Pope who was caught offside.Avery combined with Harding but could not quite hit the target . The stones broke away and almost caught Invicta out but the final shot was wide. They then forced a couple of corners but failed to cause any problems as Barnett and Law cleared. Haymes also defended well when under pressure.

Invicta then produced the move of the match when Head broke down the right fed Avery who fed Harding and his pass was hit by Lefevre from which the Stones Keeper made a good save. Invicta broke the deadlock when Lee found Harding who set Avery clear to slot passed the Keeper to give Invicta the lead. Harding and Head had good chances but fired wide.Pope also had a chance when Froud put him clear.

Invicta made some changes at half time which seem to strengthen the midfield and when Harding went clear and was bundled over it seemed a certain penalty but nothing was given . The game got a bit feisty with challenges flying in .Barnett headed wide from a free kick . More Substitutions followed and when Hughes combined with Wilson and the ball broke Sam Hughes fired home Invicta's second .Hughes then hit the crossbar from close range .As the Stones tried to brake out down the left Marc Gilbert defended well and played Wilson in who squared to Pope who shot wide.

Invicta pushed forward with Causer exchanging passes with Lee who was chopped down in the box earning the Stones defender a caution.Pope had his twice taken Penalty saved .However two minutes later Harding struck a shot from the edge of the box which the Keeper parried into the net. With time running out the Stones defended well to stop Invicta adding to there lead.

It was not the prettiest of games but the result was what mattered and the guys rolled there sleeves up and got the job done.

Bricketwood 1-2 Folkestone Invicta Disability F.C.

Invicta started lively in what was to be the toughest game of the season so far with Hughes winnig the ball out wide right and crossing for Head whose shot was blocked .Harding then ran at the Wood  defence before firing over .The Wood were winning there share of ball in Midfield and went close on the break with Froud having to be alert and Haymes Avery and Barnett making timely challenges to keep the forwards at bay.

Invicta won a series of corners and from one of Hardings crosses Lee headed over from close range. Hayter then beat two men before firing over .The Wood pushed forward and won a corner from which Invicta failed to clear and as the strikers header was cleared off the line it was defected up into the net to give the Wood the lead. This seemed to fire Invicta up as Harding went close and Barnett missed a good chance . When Froud released Barnett and his ball forward was flicked on by Hayter for Harding to race clear to fire home the equaliser . Invicta made substitutions just before the break and this seemed to win more of the midfield battles Head had a good chance and Hughes fired wide from distance. It was level pegging at the break. The Wood attacked down the left but Causer cleared for Harding who again run at the defenders and crossed but was cleared before Head could pounce .Chapman chased the defenders down causing panic and winning a corner. From the corner by Harding Lefevre rose above the defence to head home despite the ball being cleared from over the line to give Invicta the lead. The Wood poured forward and had several good chances especially from a clearence by Froud that fell invitingly .Invicta countered with Stephens going close before a defender kept out Lefevre 's shot and then he hit the bar. With time running out The Wood won a couple of dangerous free Kicks Hayter cleared off the line and Avery hammered the ball away with Haywood getting forward but as he followed up was given off side and when the ball came back the ref blew for time. This was a difficult game today and the lads put in a good shift sometimes you have to win the ugly way and not by playing great football having said that some of the football was good but they all dug in and got the result which was the important thing .The Wood must be disappointed they did not get a draw as well but thats football. Maidstone United Deaf 2-10 Folkestone Invicta DFC

A strong second half display from Invicta saw them keep up their wining run in the Disability League. Invicta started quickly and were ahead inside thirty seconds with Chapman and Harding pressing the stones defence and forcing a mistake and Harding fired home.Five minutes later it was 2-0 as Thornton took the ball forward and unleashing a thirty yarder into the net.Stones started to get back in the game and Haymes had to make timely interventions to stop breakaways. The Stones pulled a goal back when Invicta lost possession in Midfield and the ball was played wide the Stones forward cut in beating a defender before unleashing a shot past Froud. However Invicta struck back straight away when Hayter put Harding in to score his second .The gamebegan to get end to end with Stones going close before they got their second when Hayter Brought down a stones midfielder in the box and he got up to duly slot home the penalty .Burden replaced Chapman and was in the action straight away as Invicta won a corner .Burden took it and it crept inside the near post .Stones still pressed and won a free kick in a dangerous area but fired wide. Invicta made changes at half time with Causer and Head coming on for Haymes and J.Hughes and this increased the Tempo .Head and Thornton exchanged passes setting Burden away and he fired across the keeper and in . Lefevre found Head with a fine cross pass and he shot wide .Invicta were putting six and passes together now at pace and the Stones started get weary chasing down and when Harding completed his hatrick by beating his man and again finding the net there was no way back for the stones .Burden sealed his hatrick when the keeper dropped the ball at his feet with an empty net at his mercy.Burden then became provider heading on a clearance for Harding to run on to score his fourth and added he added his fifth turning the defence inside out and firing home. Invicta attacked down both flanks with Head and Lee and Causer and Lefevre causing Havoc the Stones were forced into giving away free Kicks as they tried to stop them .Law had to be alert at the back to stop a couple of breaks but second half the Stones rarely threatened. The move of the game came for the final goal when Barnett found Harding and continued his run to meet Harding's cross and power a header beyond the keepers reach. Head had a chance after a fine run but the Keeper saved and that was game over. It was a pleasing performance especially second half as that is what we do in training. Folkestone Invicta DFC 6-0 Maidstone United Raiders Gold

Invicta started poorly in the boggy conditions at South road. The Raiders forcing Invicta back and getting in behind there back four three times with Jason Hughes having to be alert to clear .Invicta 's midfield were failing to control the ball and create chances getting the ball wide and were to slow .So it was no surprise when Raiders won a penalty following a foul by Lee Avery .Raiders failed with the spot kick as Hughes saved.

When Invicta did get forward crosses were over hit and the keeper saved .On the stroke of half time Invicta got a lucky break when Raiders failed to clear a cross from James Rand and the ball fell to Troy Harding who fired home to give invicta a half time lead. Following substitutions and a half time talking to plus tactical change Invicta came out for the second half with a bit more life about them . Following good work from Jamie Haymes at the back Charlie Pope got in behind the Raiders back four down the right cut in and doubled the lead .James Lefevre and Jordan Head started winning the ball in the middle and getting it wide to Ricky Burden who shot wide. From Jason Hughes clearance Troy Harding went close and from Damian Barnett's through ball Charlie Pope shot wide . Invicta were starting to up the tempo and Charlie Pope added his second as the keeper fumbled and Charlie Pope chipped him .Invicta's fourth came when James Lefevre put Ricky Burden through and his shot was pushed onto the bar by the Raiders Keeper it came back to young striker Ryhs Haywood on the edge of the area and he showed composure to curl his shot into the corner.Charlie Pope completed his hatrick when Peter Lee's superb through ball split the Raiders defence and Pope raced onto finish. Invicta's final goal came when Jordan Heads cross was turned into his own net by a raides defender. Invicta defended better second half with Haymes,Froud,Avery,Barnett and Lee a lot tighter. We could easily of been 3-0 down at Half time and the second half we were a lot better. Those who are selected for the league game on the 24th against maidstone Deaf will have to be a lot sharper or they will get punished at the Gallagher. ST Albans 1-10 Folkestone Invicta

A superb display of passing movement and finishing on a Quality 3G surface in Hertfordshire saw Invicta win

Invicta started well but with caution in the first 15 minutes before good work down the right from Law, Haymes and Thornton saw Jason Hughes cross for Harding to head home to give Invicta the lead .Invicta 's second came when Chapman and Harding combined for J.Hughes to break free and shoot from distance past the surprised Keeper. The third goal was a copy of the second which the Keeper could only parry Hughes shot into the net.Invicta were passing the ball around at pace and when Haymes was fouled just inside the st Albans half Barnett took the free kick and it flew straight in past the unsighted Keeper. St Albans tried to play out from the back but Invicta closed down so quick forcing mistakes by the defenders who had no where to go and Thornton capitalised to fire home and then added two more from close range.St Albans forced a couple of corners but struggled against a strong defence .Head and Hayter combined to pass the ball across the edge of the box for Hughes to complete his hatrick in fine style . Chapman burst through and was felled out side the box Hayter's free kick went straight at the keeper.Lefevre went close with a shot superbly saved by the keeper . When Wilson beat the offside trap and had his shot saved the ball fell for Thornton to lob in from 20yards for his fourth. St Albans got a consolation goal when they broke clear though Harding got to the ball first under pressure he fired past his keeper. Wayne Froud then broke from the half way line holding off to defenders before firing past the keeper in fine style.Wilson put Head through but he was fouled on route to goal Sam Hughes was unlucky from distance .The final whistle went with Invicta still looking for goals. This was a tremendous performance from the lads today on a good surface for passing football from 1-15 everyone did their job . Folkestone Invicta D.F.C. 7-0 Charlton Athletic Ability Counts

Invicta continued their good form with a convincing performance over Charlton in a game dedicated to Johnny Head who was killed Friday, for which the players held a minute's silence and wore black armbands. His son who played for the team thanked both teams for this.

Invicta started on the front foot getting in behind the Charlton defence through Lefevre but his cross was fired wide by Harding .Charlton defended well and dealt with a couple of corners and Invicta failed to capitalize .They eventually took the lead with the ball pin balling in the box Damian Barnett Fired home .Charlton kept the score at 1-0 with some good defending and also the woodwork came to the rescue from Hayter's shot  and also Charlton got a couple of half chances but Froud dealt comfortably .With ten minutes to go to half time  subs Wilson ,Pope and Hughes came on which made an immediate impact with Harding sent clear to lob home the second and two minutes later Popes cross and Hughes knock down found Wilson who hammered home number three .Which the score was at Half time. The second half began with Invicta putting the Charlton defenders under pressure with Pope firing wide then denied by a fine save from the Charlton Keeper. But he could do nothing when Lee put Pope in behind to cross for Harding to head home.Wilson then crossed for Head who was just beaten to the ball by a defender .Pope and Chapman linked up and Chapman beat his man and fired past the Keeper.Thornton went close with a header. Chapman added his second when Law slipped and fell on the ball but Chapman had the presence of mind to take the ball and shoot between two defenders and the Keeper for a precise finish.Jordan Head took over the captain's band for last twenty minutes as a mark of respect. Charlton had a couple of shots from distance but Invicta kept pushing forward Haymes put Hughes in but fired wide Wilson then struck the bar and Pope struck the post before Pope rounded off the scoring receiving the ball outside the box and firing in off the bar. That was the final score . The performance was pleasing but we need to take more chances in front of goal especially against the stronger teams. Folkestone Invicta D.F.C. 9-1 St Albans City D.F.C.

St Albans started the better side forcing three successive corners and firing wide .putting pressure on .Invicta however always look dangerous on the counter attack.Invicta took the lead when Damian Barnett 40 yard free kick sailed over everyone decieving the keeper.Invicta added a second when Carl Chapman raced onto a through ball and sloted home . Third came when when the ball was worked a cross to Jordan Head and his shot found the net via a deflection.St Albans made a reply when the ball was lost in midfield and their striker tried his luck from out side the box and scored.

Invicta made changes in the second half and it livened them up when they started to play down the wings more .Troy harding followed up a shot and added number four. Billee Hayter fired in number five .Man of the match Hayter supplied a cross for Geraint Wilson to head home .Then he got his second lobbing the keeper from twenty five yards. Jason Hughes broke down the wing following a pass from Haymes crossing for Harding but he fired wide.Thornton's through ball found Reece Grist who fired home on his home debut .Invicta completed there scoring when Hughes cross found Head at the far post to fire home.

The lads put in a good shift especially in the second half and the wing play was superb .It gives me a hard decision to make for first league team squad.
